Our motivation for developing UniLoader was an urgent need for a reliable and secure bootloader for products to highly invasive conditions (waterproof and resistive to saltwater, petrol, oil, high range of operational temperatures, vibrations etc.). Once manufactured electronic is covered by a special case without the possibility to undamaged disassemble. The only way how to update device firmware was over the CAN communication bus. Developed solution with an individually encrypted firmware for every device fulfils one of the most important requirements which was a high level of firmware protection.
During the product's lifetime, we made several successful firmware updates. Remote updates in service centres instead of reclaims saved a serious amount of money.
